Anka Rowing Shoes
Anka Rowing Shoes are manufactured in India. These are new to our range, and with shoe size being such an individual matter, we have yet to establish a regular stock holding, but can obtain them to order at very short notice.
Their regular range of shoes have a standard 4-screw foot stretcher fitting, which enables them to be rapidly interchanged within or between boats to accommodate changes in crews. Quick release fittings are also available, and we know of clubs who have converted totally to these. With this system, each rower is responsible for buying a pair of Anka shoes, and all boats have foot stretchers adapted for them. This means that all members row in their own comfortably fitting shoes, which they can thus keep clean and in good condition. With this, Anka has surely pointed us towards the future direction of shoes in rowing shells. Rowers who brave the elements before dawn on an icy winter morning need no longer endure the unnecessary misery of slipping into cold wet shoes, and there is the big added plus of putting an end the unhygienic practice of shared footwear.
If you are interested in fitting Anka shoes to existing boats, foot stretchers can be easily adapted to accommodate them, and we can advise on this.
Anka also manufacture high quality protective sleeves for the storage and transportation of sculling and sweep oars. These can be manufactured in club colours upon request.
