The famous WM “banana shaped” hull with its triangular transom
stern, designed by the Swiss team of Weitenauer and Macherel, is now produced
by MPS Composites of Beauville, France. Under the MPS brand name they build the
original WM single, as well as 2x/2- and 4x/4-/4+ derivatives.
Fast and stylish, these boats are
well known in Europe and Canada where they have been used to win many medals at
levels up to and including international regattas.
Their new carbon wing rigger, made
in a graceful and aerodynamic arc shape avoids the high stress problems of angular
wings, and is an outstanding piece of design. Surely the best wing rigger on
